These are my current deserted island/ride or die/everyday make up routine items. I am happy with the results of all these products but know that they are not organic and will not be repurchasing.
So lets start with the face..
Primer: E.L.F. Cosmetics Tone Adjusting Face Primer – Love the price. A thick formula that makes the foundation glide on and sit nicely. But I don’t know how much tone adjusting it does.. E.L.F. are cruelty free but not organic.
CC Under Eye Concealer: Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector in Light/Medium. This does a fantastic job of colour correcting the extremely dark circles under my eyes. Doesn’t crease if you set it. Tarte are cruelty free (but owned by Kose – a NON cruelty free company) but not organic.
Foundation: NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in Mont Blanc. This is a medium to full coverage foundation was is very buildable. And it is what it says.. Luminous and weightless which I love. A little goes a long way and I find it goes on best with a beauty sponge. NARS is cruelty free (but owned by Shiseido – a NON cruelty free company) but not organic.
Concealer: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla. This is a product you either love or you hate. And I happen to love it. Yes it creases on my under eye area but only if it isn’t set. But I have as yet to find a concealer that doesn’t crease on me! It’s got good coverage without being too thick and cakey. The colour I have isn’t light enough to highlight for me so I use Tarte Shape Tape in Fair for that. But it covers my under eyes and I also spot conceal with it across my cheeks and anywhere else I have blemishes.
Powders: NARS (are you starting to see a trend here!?!?!?) Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder. I use this to bake under my eyes and anywhere else I put concealer. Doesn’t give too much of a white cast to my makeup and haven’t had a problem with flash photography. When used in conjunction with my Max Factor Creme Puff Pressed Powder in Natural which I use everywhere else it makes my face look flawless! (Max Factor is NOT cruelty free and not organic)
Contour: Tarte Tarteist Contour Palette. This the older version of the palette with a highlight, corrector, 2 x contours, a blush and shimmer powder. I usually just use the lighter contour if I am doing the face steps above. Will use the blush, highlighter and corrector if going for a simpler day look with just a powder foundation. The lighter contour is a bit too warm for me but I make it work.
Blush: Inglot Face Blush in 55. It looks like they don’t even make this colour anymore. I have had this blush for a looooooonnngg time. It’s a deep rosy pink that suits my face and doesn’t make me look like a clown. Easy to blend. Inglot are NOT cruelty free and not organic.
Highlight: Too Faced Candlelight Glow in Rosy Glow. I love how natural this highlighter looks. It gives you a nice glow from within vibe. If I want to take things up a notch in the glow department I will use Jeffree Star Peach Goddess Skin Frost. Too Faced is cruelty free (but owned by Estee Lauder – a NON cruelty free company) but not organic.
Eyebrows: Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Pencil in Medium Brown. I have never been a person big into the brow craze! I barely ever use a brow product cause my brows look fine how they are. But I will use this product if I am going full glam with my makeup. Makes them look a bit darker, enough said.
Eyeliners: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Close Up Lash Liner and/or Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Inner Rim Liner. I use both of these on the inner rim. (not at the same time just depends on the look I’m going for..) I will use the Close Up Lash liner for eyeliner as well because I never do a cat eye so I don’t need anything too precise as I generally blend it into my eyeshadow.
Mascara: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara. The 4-in-1 biz means lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning mascara.. and it makes your lashes look sensational!! Following all the buzz about the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara I went out and bought it to only be sorely disappointed. It just made my lashes look clumpy. This tarte mascara is so much better than the Too Faced mascara and deserves much more hype than it gets.
Eyeshadow Palette: Kylie Cosmetics The Bronze Palette. I am a warm neutrals sort of girl so this palette suits me down to a T. It has 9 shades and plenty of combinations to make a day or night look. The colours are quite pigmented and easy to blend. Kylie Cosmetics is cruelty free but not organic.
Single Eyeshadow: L’oreal Color Appeal in Golden Shimmer. I don’t even think L’oreal make this type of eyeshadow anymore but I managed to find it on good old Amazon. Without fail I will use this for a brow highlight, inner corner highlight or on days where I don’t feel like doing a full eye look will just chuck this over my whole lid. Love this stuff! L’oreal is NOT cruelty free and not organic.
Lipstick: Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Watermelon Soda. I am definitely a liquid lipstick fan as opposed to regular lipstick. I love how long it lasts and I love how you can eat a greasy burger without worrying that your lipstick is almost non-existent. And Jeffree Star makes a great liquid lipstick. Doesn’t go crumbly on me, doesn’t dry my lips out and the colour will last most of the day, greasy burgers and all. This colour was part of his 2016 Summer collection and is no longer available on his website but you can still grab it at Beauty Lish. Jeffree Star Cosmetics is cruelty free but not organic.
So there you have it. The makeup I would have with me if I was stuck on a deserted island.
There is a lot of updating to do once I have used all these up so I plan on hitting these websites when I am ready to get some cruelty free and organic makeup!
